Aixtron noted that its 56x2" and 14x4" AIXG5 HT reactors ordered by Nantong Tongfang will be used to produce high-brightness LEDs. The system will begin delivery in 2Q11 and will be completed in 4Q11. Aixtron's local technical team is responsible for installation and commissioning.
On August 8, 2011, the first phase of Tsinghua Tongfang Nantong Semiconductor LED Industrial Base was completed and officially put into operation. Tongfang shares independently invested more than RMB 3 billion in the Nantong LED semiconductor industry base, of which 48 units (sets) of MOCVD were ordered from Aixtron and Veeco, including the latest machines of the two major equipment factories. It is estimated that Tongfang Nantong Base can form an annual output of 2.4 million high-brightness blue LED epitaxial wafers and LED chips. The annual sales scale can reach more than 2 billion yuan.
