Liaoning Power Grid plans to invest 67.38 billion to build a "smart grid"

In 2012, Liaoning Power System has invested 39.836 billion yuan in the construction of Liaoning power grid since 2008. It has exceeded the total investment in the previous 7 years and the scale of power grid construction has doubled, which is equivalent to the construction of a “Liaoning Power Grid”. Through the increase of power grid investment construction, Liaoning Power Grid has completely broken down the bottleneck of power transmission and solved the problem of "power cuts and power cuts" that have plagued Liaoning's economic development for many years. Liaoning Power Grid has become stronger and more reliable.

With the increase in investment in power grid construction in Liaoning Province, a large number of power infrastructures serving the “three regions” development strategy in Liaoning have been completed and put into operation.

In order to serve the development of coastal economic belts, Liaoning Province has started 115 power grid construction projects from 2008 to 2010, and the power supply capacity of coastal cities such as Dalian and Yingkou has significantly increased. In order to ensure the development of Shenyang Economic Zone in terms of electricity demand, our province has started seven 500 kilovolt power transmission projects in advance and completed and put into operation 28 items of 220 kilovolt power transmission and transformation projects. In terms of rural power construction, the electrification of 16 counties, 183 townships, and 1969 villages across the province has met the demand of electric power for county economic development.

Liaoning Power Grid is stronger than ever before and completely bid farewell to the “power cuts”. In one and a half years, Liaoning Power Grid invested 3.2 billion yuan to build the Central-South Ring Power Transmission and Transformation Project. In November 2009, the 500-kilovolt central-to-South Ring Power Transmission Project was formally put into operation, and the capacity of Liaoning's south-central power grid to resist major natural disasters was significantly increased, thereby completely solving the south-central region of Liaoning, especially Dalian, Dandong, and Benxi. The backbone network network in the region was weak, and Liaoning Power Grid has since bid farewell to “power cuts”. In 2010, under the background of the rapid economic development in Liaoning Province and the continuous increase in power grid investment, Liaoning Province’s power grid sales amounted to 137.5 billion kwh, an increase of 28.57% over 2007.

During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Liaoning Power Grid will continue to increase the scale of construction and plans to invest 67.38 billion yuan to form a 500 kV three-dimensional double-ring double-ring network in the middle of Liaoning Province supported by transmission channels of major power bases. The "Japanese" shaped ring network forms triangles and quadrangular ring networks in southern Liaoning. In the future, Liaoning Power Grid will build a “smart grid” that is suitable for large-scale nuclear power generation, large thermal power generation, large wind power access, and hybrid AC/DC transmission, and is highly informatized, automated, and interactive.
