This new blade server complies with the PICMG 3.0 R.3.0 baseboard specification and the PICMG 3.1 R2.0 Ethernet network specification. It uses the Cavium OCTEON II CN6880 NPU and contains two cnMIPS64 V2 processors clocked at 1.2 GHz, each with 32 Core, providing a total of 64 cores of parallel processing capabilities, is the best platform architecture for deep packet inspection (DPI), network security, and flow control applications.

The memory configuration is 8-slot VLP REG / ECC DDR3-1066 memory, which supports data temporary storage and error detection and correction functions up to 128GB, and a total data exchange bandwidth of 320Gbps. It also supports "ternary content addressable memory" (TCAM) to speed up the search of packet classification rules.

The aTCA-N700 is also equipped with a local management function, a 4-core Freescale QorIQ P2041 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, which reduces the burden of the Cavium processor and thus can focus on high-speed packet processing.

Each group of NPU is equipped with NOR flash memory and NAND flash memory as a redundant design when the system is turned on or the operating system cannot be started. The hardware redundancy design of the local management processor includes two sets of EEROM to load the U-boot boot program, and two sets of solid state drives to start the operating system to ensure the storage and application of the image.

For the Ethernet network, a high-performance BCM 56842 switching chip is used to connect the Cavium processor, backplane, and I / O, providing up to 320Gbps of data switching bandwidth, while also providing rich I / O interfaces.

In terms of data transmission interface, aTCA-N700 is equipped with two 40G Fabric Interface high-speed transmission channels in addition to two basic Ethernet interfaces to take into account the speed and flexibility of data exchange. In addition, the flexible rear trace board design also provides the highest I / O density and a transmission interface with a total bandwidth of 160/120 Gbps.
