Free! Touch handle tutorial application release

August 24, 2021

At the Oculus Connect 3 conference last month, Oculus officially announced that their newly developed asynchronous space warping technology will be used in the Oculus helmet, a technology that allows the helmet to run on a lower configuration computer. This is good news for users who don't want to spend too much money on the VR experience.

According to the Oculus CEO, the Oculus Rift officially recommends the same specifications as before, starting at $1,000. The current minimum specification for device requirements is the GTX 960 graphics card and the i3 processor, indicating that the new standard allows the Oculus helmet to run on a $499 computer.

Today, Oculus also officially released the Touch Handle Tutorial app, "First Contact," which will be available for sale on December 6th with the Touch handle. It will help users how to use the Touch handle and use a robot to help players interact with the virtual world using their hands.

It is understood that the app will be provided to Touch users free of charge, and there will be several free games. But considering that the Touch handle costs $199 and requires an additional camera, plus the $599 Oculus Rift, the price is similar to the htc vive.

In addition, Oculus has released Oculus Avatars, a VR avatar system that allows players to visually demonstrate themselves.
