MWC 2016 opens, 5G encounters "cold spring"

February 28, 2021

The 2016 World Mobile Communications Conference (2016MWC) is being held in Barcelona. It is slightly different from the 2015MWC. This year, the global Internet and communications giants are competing to “black technology”. In particular, VR virtual reality has become a feast for many exhibitors, due to VR, etc. Application landing, 5G has a breakthrough in the first line, but the international community generally believes that 5G commercial 2020, the previous year, the hot 5G Huawei ZTE will target 4.5G, the 5G that has received much attention has encountered "cold spring."

5G or 4.5G produces "difference"

2015 MWC, smart cars, robots and virtual reality using 4G IoT technology are only displayed by individual companies as “fun”, many applications are only for display and viewing, and 2016MWC will implement these technologies to achieve the scene, users can participate in experience interaction on the spot. Especially the robots that use 5G technology for remote control are very eye-catching. For example, on the SK Telecom booth, VR experiencers are growing up.

2016 will be the year of 5G standard, and telecom operators and equipment vendors are conducting technical tests around 5G related standards. Ericsson, TCL, Coolpad, etc. are still overheating 5G technology.

Rima Qureshi, senior vice president and chief strategy officer of Ericsson, said in an interview with Sohu Technology that Ericsson, including Asia, China, Japan, Korea, the United States and Europe, has some cooperation, including 5G testing and POC demonstration. In addition, at 2016MWC, Ericsson will conduct in-depth discussions with the 5G standards organization. Ericsson announced that through 5G field testing using MU-MIMO and beam tracking technology, the peak downlink speed exceeds 25 Gbps, which is 100 times the current 4G rate. Dongmyun Lee, chief technology officer of KT Korea, said: "Through cooperation with Ericsson, KT will preview innovative 5G services at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.

At 2016MWC, Huawei's rotating CEO Guo Ping said in an exclusive interview with Sohu Technology, "Huawei has proposed a five-year 5G investment of 600 million US dollars in 2015. This data may be added under certain conditions."

However, Sohu Technology noted that Huawei’s focus in the past year is still on the 4.5G competition with ZTE. At 2016MWC, Huawei's 5G solutions were demonstrated by various operators such as China Mobile, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and KT. At 2016MWC, Guo Ping explained Huawei's view on 5G and its response strategy with “What should we do before 5G?”. Guo Ping said, “Even the most aggressive operators, 5G commercialization will be completed by 2020, and real large-scale deployment will take more time.”

During this time, Huawei increased its investment in the 4.5G network and chose a more "pragmatic" technology. Xu Wenwei, president of Huawei Strategy MakeTIng, said in an interview with Sohu. At 2016MWC, Huawei proposed an "open, cooperation, and win-win" industrial chain integration idea in 5G, on the one hand, through the booth to show 5G related applications, 5G partner solutions, etc. On the other hand, through the summit to discuss 5G applications for sorting, discuss 5G priority levels, talk about 5G key technologies, standard unification, and so on.

ZTE will showcase 5G and Pre5G new products. ZTE’s CEO Zeng Xuezhong said in an interview with Sohu Technology that for ZTE, it has prepared for 4.5G from standards, chips, system equipment and terminals. On the chip side, ZTE launched the Xunlong 7520 chip this year, which is the world's third commercial 4.5G processing chip. It supports LTE CAT6 300 Mbps. The next three generations of Xunlong will be in terms of speed, power consumption, integration and computing power. And the evolution of flexibility and other enhanced. In an interview with reporters, ZTE said that ZTE will continue to invest in 5G technology research and product development. In 2015, it will release a series of Pre5G prototypes, and Pre5G products will be launched in 2016~2018.

The operator is strong 5G, and it is still at 4.5G.

At present, it is planned to deploy 5G network mobile operators. In addition to China's three major operators, South Korea's SK Telecom and Japan's NTT DoCoMo and Hong Kong, China have already taken action. AT&T said it will test early versions of 5G networks this year. The network will be 10 to 100 times faster than 4G LTE networks and may be used for home broadband services; Verizon not only plans to test 5G this year, but also deploys commercials in 2017; in the UK, it has invested £7,000 to build a 5G Innovation Center; in Japan South Korea will launch commercials in the 2020 and 2018 Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics respectively; in Europe, the EU-sponsored PPP research project has started and is expected to be deployed in 2020...

At present, China Mobile has built the world's largest 4G network, but it is not enough to meet the challenges brought by 5G. Liu Guangyi, chief engineer of the China Mobile Research Institute Wireless Institute, said that the mobile Internet and the Internet of Things are the two major driving forces for the future development of mobile communications, and will provide broad prospects for 5G. In order to generate more revenue and profits, China Mobile needs to develop to 5G. Therefore, China Mobile attaches great importance to 5G research and puts forward the 5G vision of “information to the heart, the tentacles of everything”.

The bending and forming of the metal plate is carried out on the bending machine. Place the workpiece to be formed on the bending machine, lift the brake shoe with the lifting lever, slide the workpiece to the proper position, and then lower the brake shoe to the workpiece to be formed, and realize the bending of the metal by applying force to the bending lever of the bending machine.
