Development and Application of CC2530 Chip

CC2530 chip development includes hardware design and software design. Due to space limitations, this book only describes the application of hardware design and development modules.

1. CC2530 peripheral circuit design

ZigBee terminal equipment module hardware platform developed by Hangzhou Crystal Controls Electronics, CC2530's peripheral circuits mainly include crystal oscillator circuit, RF RF circuit, power supply circuit, filter circuit, sensor acquisition circuit and RS232 serial communication circuit with his auxiliary circuit. Among them, the crystal oscillator circuit includes two internal RC crystal oscillators (16MHz and 32KHz), the accuracy is slightly lower, the power consumption is small, and the startup is fast: two external quartz crystal oscillators (32.768KHz and 32MHz), high precision, large power consumption, and slow start-up. The 12-bit ADC is responsible for the environmental parameter information collected by the digital-analog conversion sensor module; the RF wireless radio realizes ZigBee wireless data transmission and reception; the RS232 can realize communication with other MCUs.

The input interface of the power supply circuit of the CC2530 device module uses a modulation and regulation voltage of 3.3V. The precision of the precision reference current bias resistor R301 is controlled within 0.5% to provide the best operating current for the crystal oscillation circuit. The filter circuit is equipped with a decapacitor and works cooperatively with the power supply module to improve the stability and accuracy of the CC2530 internal voltage. The crystal oscillator circuit configures two start-up capacitors to provide the CC2530 with an accurate internal system clock. Switching of the clock source is controlled and implemented using the CLKCONCMDSFR register. If the ZigBee wireless sensor network module enables the RF RF transceiver, the clock source can only select a high-speed and stable 32MHz crystal oscillator, and the accuracy of the 16M1zRC oscillator cannot meet the requirements of the RF radio.

2.3 ZigBee Terminal Equipment Modules

Hangzhou Jingkong Electronics has developed and customized 3 ZigBee terminal equipment modules based on different applications of the smart home industry and different needs of customers, using the CC2530 chip.

(1) ZigBee Mini Terminal Module - PCB Antenna

The ZgBee Mini terminal equipment module is equipped with a ZigBee main chip CC2530 from TI and equipped with a PCB antenna. The transmission effect is almost unchanged, and the size of the entire ZigBee module is reduced as much as possible. Antenna area can not be wired up and down, and there should be enough antenna space. It is recommended to install the antenna area and the performance is the most important. Metal wires or shells should be avoided around the antenna to affect performance.

Module applications include LED bulbs, smart sockets and other small household appliances.

The main features of the ZigBee Mini terminal device module are as follows.

1) Small size, light weight, lead all IO ports, standard 2.54 needle interface.

2) Open frequency band, working frequency band is 2.4GHz.

3) 16 transmission channels, switching reliable communication channels according to the environment.

4) Wireless transmission rate up to 250 kbit/s.

5) power consumption: receiving current

6) Using a 2.4G omni-directional antenna, a reliable transmission distance of 100m and an automatic reconnection distance of up to 80m.

(2) ZigBee Mini+PA Terminal Equipment Module

The ZigBee Mini+PA terminal equipment module is equipped with a ZigBee master chip CC2530 of the head office II company, and is equipped with a power amplifier chip CC2591. The communication distance is doubled, the data exchange is more stable, and the reliability of the entire ZigBee wireless sensor network is ensured as much as possible. . The antenna area can not be covered with copper above and below and can not be wired. There should be enough antenna space. The antenna area is recommended for installation and the performance is best. If there is not enough space for installation, it is recommended to place the antenna area on the edge of the board, leaving at least 2cm of blank space on the antenna area and on the right side.

The application of this module mainly includes: ZigBee intelligent street lights, tunnel lights, smart meters and greenhouse detection sensors such as indoor and outdoor long-distance communications products.

The main features of the ZigBee Mini+PA terminal device module are as follows.

1) Small size, light weight, lead all JO mouth, standard 2.54 needle interface.

2) Open frequency band, working frequency band is 2.4GHZ.

3) 16 transmission channels, switching reliable communication channels according to the environment.

4) The wireless transmission rate reaches 25 0kbit/s.

5) power consumption: receiving current

6) Using 2-4GHz omnidirectional antenna, the reliable transmission distance is up to 500m, and the automatic reconnection distance is up to 400m.

(3) ZigBeeMini+STM Terminal Equipment Module

The ZigBee Mini+STM terminal equipment module is equipped with a ZigBee radio frequency chip CC2530 from TI and a cost-effective Cortex M3 core host MCU—STM32. The secondary resources are extremely rich and can satisfy all customers for secondary development. Copper can't be placed on the top and bottom of the antenna area, and it should not be wired. There should be enough antenna space.

The main applications of this module are ZigBee lighting panel, ZigBee curtain motor, ZigBee infrared transponder, ZigBee PM25 sensor and ZigBee formaldehyde sensor and other smart home products.
