Agilent introduces solutions for broadband signal analysis and generation

January 30, 2024

Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A) has announced the launch of two solutions for broadband signal analysis and generation. The solution includes the industry's first 160 MHz analysis bandwidth option for high-performance PXA signal analyzers and Signal Studio software for 802.11ac signal generation.

Agilent Vice President and General Manager of Microwave and Communications Division said: "PXA's 160-MHz bandwidth can support wider bandwidth signal analysis to meet the needs of today's engineers. Emerging technologies such as the 802.11ac WLAN standard are for device developers and production The vendor has brought new design and test challenges. With new signal analysis solutions, we can solve the above challenges. The new solution uses PXA and 802.11ac signal generation software to provide industry-leading performance and features to support Engineers quickly verify and troubleshoot next-generation WLAN devices, speeding time to market. "

Supports wideband signal analysis
A wide-bandwidth signal analysis of up to 160 MHz is necessary to fully analyze the bandwidth supported by 802.11ac. The 160 MHz bandwidth Agilent PXA signal analyzer can meet this requirement and support engineers to analyze other applications with wide bandwidth signals. Its advanced performance can provide in-depth analysis to help engineers accelerate the design, verification, and troubleshooting of current and future 802.11ac devices. In addition, combined with 89600 VSA software's 802.11ac modulation analysis function, PXA supports comprehensive high-performance 802.11ac signal analysis.

Support 802.11ac signal generation
A key step in testing 802.11 devices is to generate standards-compliant 802.11ac test signals. Agilent Signal Studio for WLAN software supports 802.11ac waveform generation with BCC or LDPC channel coding, all MCS coding, and single or multi-user MIMO (up to 4 streams). Agilent ESG, MXG or PSG vector signal generators and PXB baseband generators and channel emulators can generate signals with a bandwidth of up to 80 MHz, and two vector signal generators from Agilent can support signal generation with a bandwidth of 160 MHz.

At the European Microwave Week (Booth G301) held at the Manchester Centre in Manchester, UK from October 11th to 13th, Agilent will showcase PXA's new wide bandwidth options and Signal Studio software, as well as other wireless communications products and services.
