June 25, 2020

In the morning news on February 27th, Beijing time, Huawei executives said that Huawei plans to ship 60 million smartphones this year, three times that of last year, challenging Apple and Nokia in the smartphone market.

Huawei Terminal Chairman Yu Chengdong (Weibo) said at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona that Huawei's 30% to 40% of smartphone shipments this year will be for the Chinese market. Huawei released the Ascend D quad-core mobile phone at this MWC, and called it the world's fastest smartphone. Compared with similar mobile phones, the cost of this product is 15% to 20% lower.

Huawei said in April last year that it plans to increase its revenue to US $ 100 billion in the next 5 to 10 years. The company is currently developing cloud computing and small business network services as a complement to traditional telecommunications equipment business. Yu Chengdong said: "We want to be the top brand in the industry. Our mobile phone brand is not well-known, but our products are the best."

Ascend D quad-core mobile phones will be available in all major markets starting next quarter. The version supporting LTE network will be launched in the second half of this year.
