SOPC (System On a Programmable Chip) is a technology that implements an electronic system on a programmable chip. SOPC is the product of the development and integration of programmable logic device technology and SoC (System on Chip) technology [1? 2].

One of the key technologies of SOPC is the IP core, which is the intellectual property core. The so-called IP core refers to some complex functional modules, such as audio encoding/decoding, SDRAM, etc., which are designed as modules that can modify parameters and can be called directly. In the actual SOPC design process, users often have special requirements, and EDA vendors do not provide this IP core. Therefore, it is especially important to add user-defined components to your design.

1 Avalon bus

The SOPC components are connected together via an Avalon switch fabric or an Avalon bus. The customizable nature of the SOPC system requires the Avalon bus to have flexible and customizable features. The Avalon bus is a relatively simple synchronous bus with its specification and transmission mode.

The Avalon bus is a proprietary interconnect technology developed by Altera Corporation for connecting SOPC system components and slave components. It is automatically generated by SOPC Builder and is ideal for use between system processors and peripherals. Inline bus. The Avalon slave port is generally used. A typical slave port contains the signals listed in Table 1.
