China and Kenya sign a memorandum of understanding on semiconductor lighting cooperation
On October 15th, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Semiconductor Lighting Cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and Technology of Kenya was held in Shenzhen during the 7th China International Semiconductor Lighting Forum. Cao Jianlin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and KilemMwiyia, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Kenya, signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a moderately efficient off-grid lighting center and a Sino-ken semiconductor lighting demonstration project. Vice Minister Cao Jianlin and Vice Minister KilemMwiyia delivered speeches respectively. Ms. Wu Ling, Secretary General of the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance, attended the signing ceremony. According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides will establish a moderately efficient off-grid lighting center and a Sino-ken semiconductor lighting demonstration project in Kenya under the framework of the China-Africa Science and Technology Partnership Program to promote scientific and technological cooperation in the field of semiconductor lighting in both countries. Among them, the high-efficiency off-grid lighting center will focus on the introduction, demonstration and training of high-efficiency off-grid lighting technology, as well as the detection and display of high-efficiency off-grid lighting products.
